Learn Athabascan directly from fluent speakers.
These archives provide access to audio and video recordings of the Athabascan language. Along with the education resources and photographs gathered here, the hope is to preserve our cultural heritage and language.
About Healy Lake
Healy Lake is truly a unique place. It is special to not only those who live here and grew up in the Village but to scientists as well. Archeological studies have shown that human habitation of this area can be traced back more than 10,000 years.
We hope that you enjoy our history, our stories that have been passed down verbally for generations, and our efforts to preserve our cultural heritage.

About This Project
This project was started to serve multiple purposes:
- Preserve our native language.
- Give our tribal members and youth an opportunity to learn our language.
- Archive and share our culture.
We have worked with our elders and tribal leaders in an effort to preserve our native language. And, we have partnered with our sister village, Dot Lake, to combine assets to ensure we have a variety of resources for all tribal members.
We encourage all to learn about our history and culture. You are welcome to browse through the files we have obtained and recorded. If you have any recordings, photos or other items you would like to contribute, please reach out. Tsin’ee! (Thank you!)
